Steel or Aluminum?
The Penometal steel and aluminum products features the latest fusion welding technology. The welded construction of the products is a combination of rail strength and joint efficiency. In a welded panels the vertical load bearing strength is equal to the sum of the rail strengths of all the rails in the panel. Mechanically fastened systems typically lose some of the efficiency at each joint because potential movement or rotation can occur; during installation, from wind, or simply from people and objects leaning against the fence. That isn’t a problem with our products, because the joints are welded and not fastened, making this fence product more solid in feel, function, and form. So, the only concerns for choosing aluminum or steel are the security and design possibilities. According to the steel specification and strength, it’s recommended to use this type of materials for making your deck or backyard more secure. On the other hand, as we do wrought iron as well, we offer countless of design alternatives and custom fabricated products when we turn to Steel. Peno metal railing and gates provide customers with a high quality galvanized products to meet their expectation of durability of more than 30 years!

What are the advantages of metal products (railing, fence, gates, etc.) as opposed to wood?
While wood may be the cheaper option at first glance, metal is much more durable and will save you money in the end of the day. With the rainy weather that we often have in the Vancouver area, wood will weaken over time and will require frequent coating to be protected. Metal, on the other hand, will stand the test of time and requires much less maintenance. At last but not least, Penometal custom metal railing and gates will add elegance and value to your property.
